Jose Rizal said, "Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan," meaning "The youth are the hope of our nation." Regarding this month's celebration of the National Children's Month with the theme: "OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!" which translates to "End Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM): Fight for the Safety and Rights of Children!" I know that children deserve rights and safety. In this terrifying and unsafe world, children need to be protected from any harm.
Every child deserves to be loved and protected all the time. This month is not the only time that we should put extra care into our youth, we should care for them everyday for the betterment of our nation. This month focuses on demanding every person to keep their eyes and ears open for immediate assistance against the threats that the youth are currently facing. The safety of one child is the truest measure of a society's health.
The 2025 National Children's Month Celebration serves as a reminder that we must fight for the rights and safety of our youth, because the youth are the hope of our society. To achieve this, good parenting is needed. Parents must observe, guide, and teach their children what is right and limit their access to social media that can cause negative effects. When the government, community, and family work together, these things are not far from reach.
